“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly“, 2007, directed by Julian Schnabel.
The movie seems simple, without unnecessary emotional drama, yet powerfully dramatic to make me moved. It feels perfectly balanced, true, and authentic. A story of life that has stopped abruptly, at the peak, somehow giving the main character a chance for a long reflection. And the time to finish his book-writing project. I would like to read the book too.
“I decided to stop pitying myself. Other than my eye, two things aren’t paralyzed, my imagination and my memory.”
Perhaps imagination and memories are the most valuable things for all of us.
